As part of this ongoing effort, we have implemented the following measures on our platform:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard: To systematically find and fix potential accessibility issues across our corporate pages and online catalog.

  • Set the language of the site: To ensure screen reading software can correctly interpret and pronounce our content.

  • Set the content order of the site's pages: Ensuring a logical flow for users navigating strictly via keyboard (Tab key navigation).

  • Defined clear heading structures: Applied correct hierarchical tags (H1, H2, H3) on all of the site's pages for easier structural navigation.

  • Added alternative text to images: Provided descriptive "alt text" to our images, including our industrial equipment catalog, technical diagrams, and logistical operations photos.

  • Implemented high-contrast color combinations: Ensured that our corporate dark-theme design (dark background with light text) meets the required color contrast ratios for visually impaired users.

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site: Minimized auto-playing animations to avoid disruptions and assist users with vestibular disorders.

Ongoing Efforts and Feedback

Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on www.maelship.com fully accessible, some content, such as complex technical PDFs or third-party e-commerce integrations, may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
